Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall
The Godfather of New Jersey sound, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes first achieved prominence in the mid-1970s, emerging from the same New Jersey Shore music scene as his now legendary friend Bruce Springsteen.
His first three albums, I Don’t Want To Go Home, This Time It’s for Real and Hearts of Stone, were produced by band co-founder Steven Van Zandt (E Street Band, The Sopranos), and feature songs written by Van Zandt and/or Springsteen.
Southside Johnny’s signature song, “I Don’t Want To Go Home” and fan favorites like “Take It Inside,” “Next to You” and “This Time Baby’s Gone For Good” earned Hearts of Stone a spot on Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 100 albums of the 1970s and 1980s.
Johnny and his Jukes continue to put their unique stamp on the Jersey Shore sound, all while touring the country and recalling the glory years of Otis Redding and similar Stax Records titans.
The Steep Canyon Rangers will perform at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall located at 1050 A1A North
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. For directions click here.
