The Florida Theatre, the nonprofit arts organization that manages and programs the historic Florida Theatre on Forsyth Street in downtown Jacksonville, announces an exciting year-end fundraiser: the Florida Theatre Ticket Drawing.

Each $20 raffle gets the bearer a chance to win two tickets in the front center orchestra to every show at the Florida Theatre in 2013. Last year, the winner of this raffle could have won tickets to over 100 shows, including Gregg Allman, Willie Nelson, Brian Regan, The Avett Brothers, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Jim Gaffigan and many more.

Tickets are being sold online at floridatheatre.com, and from the Florida Theatre ticket office located at the Florida Theatre, 128 East Forsyth Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202, 904-355-ARTS (2787).

Drawing tickets make great stocking stuffers, and terrific holiday gifts for co-workers. The show tickets the drawing winner will claim are transferable. If the drawing winner is unable to attend a particular performance, the tickets can be transferred to a lucky friend.

Says Numa Saisselin, President of the Florida Theatre, “Right away the winner becomes exponentially more popular with friends and family! But more importantly, ticket sales cover just half the Florida Theatre’s annual budget, and fundraisers like the ticket drawing help to close the gap each year.”

Only 1,000 tickets will be sold between now and December 31, and the winner will be drawn at the Florida Theatre at 12:00 noon on New Year’s Eve. The winner need not be present and no purchase is necessary. The purchase of raffle tickets is not tax deductible as a charitable contribution, but the income does benefit the Florida Theatre.
