Based on the award-winning film and record Take Me to the River, this historic concert features a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see blues legends William Bell (“I Forgot To Be Your Lover,” “A Tribute To A King,” “Tryin’ To Love Two”), Bobby Rush (“Chicken Heads,” and “I Wanna Do The Do”) and Don Bryant (“How Do I Get There,” “Is There Someone Else on Your Mind,” “I Can’t Stand The Rain,” and “99 Pounds”) on the same stage performing classics and new Take Me To The River collaborations.
Backed by an all-star Memphis band, Take Me To The River includes performances by the Hi-Rhythm Section (“On The Loose,” “Save All My Love,” and “Since You’ve Been Gone”), Frayser Boy (“Gone On That Bay,” “Big Money”) Al Kapone (“Whoop That Trick,” and “Get Crunk, Get Buck”) and The Stax Academy Alumi Band under the musical direction of Boo Mitchell, who is best known for his work with Al Greene, 8 Ball, John Mayer, Rod Stewart and Lamont Dozier.
