Civic Cinema- Erin Brockovich

Civic Cinema, a project of the Florida Theatre, presents classic issue-oriented Hollywood films exploring topics of interest to our community, followed by a panel discussion of local experts.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Julia Roberts stars as an unemployed single mother, who with no formal training, becomes a legal assistant and almost single-handedly brings down a California power company accused of polluting a city’s water supply.

Following the film, a panel will discuss environmental issues in Jacksonville. We are pleased to announce the panelists for this discussion. James Richardson, Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board Administrator will moderate a panel that includes: Kristina Nelson, an Attorney with Finger, Nelson & Maguire; Lisa Rinaman, St. Johns Riverkeeper, and Terry Carr, City of Jacksonville Environmental Quality Division.
