Directed by Spike Lee and starring Danny Aiello, Spike Lee, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee and John Savage this pioneering movie takes place on hottest day of the year on a street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, everyone’s hate and bigotry smolders and builds until it explodes into violence.

Following the film, Florida Theatre President, Numa Saisselin, will moderate a panel discussion on the state of race relations in Jacksonville. Panelists include T-Roy, Radio Personality 93.3 The Beat; Celeste Kreuger, former Executive Director of OneJax Institute; Marietta LeBlanc, Study Circles Coordinator, Dialogue on Race Relations and Human Rights Commission Award Winner and Steve Smith, former Meteorologist and Television Personality, WTLV 12 and Florida Theatre Board Member.
