Amos Lee has revealed plans for the second leg of his tour in support of his latest album, Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song. The cross-country trek will include a stop in Jacksonville with a show scheduled for the historic Florida Theatre on Monday, April 7, 2014. Tickets are on sale at the Florida Theatre box office, on the telephone at 904-355-ARTS, or through Ticketmaster.
The New York Times praised Lee’s “honeyed singing voice,” noting that 2011’s chart-topping Mission Bell ”sharpens the payoff…it plants Mr. Lee and his tunes in a stark landscape, enveloped by rustling percussion and reverberant drones “ while MOJO said: “His lyrics sweat with detail and nervy experience.” “Mission Bell is a darker turn for Lee, and shows that his artistic arc is still peaking,” observed the Associated Press.
Adrien Reju will open for Amos Lee in Jacksonville. Adrien Reju is a Woodstock, New York-based singer-songwriter who has been described by the press as ”timeless” and “compelling” with “Renoir good looks.” Her song “Heartless” was featured in the Hallmark movie Flower Girl, and “All To Myself” has been in regular rotation on such AAA radio programs as WXPN’s World Cafe with David Dye and KEAO’s The Time Machine with Michael McCartney.
